Reports To: Payroll Processor
Responsible for all phases of processing payroll from employee maintenance, statutory and voluntary deductions, direct deposit, garnishments, assisting in processing bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll, ensuring the accuracy of hours recorded and paid. Ability to maintain confidential information and a solid understanding of payroll and payroll regulations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs time/data entry for bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll .
Audit and verification of weekly employee timesheets; corrections will be prepared and sent to Payroll Manager for approval.
Verifying with operation supervisors to determine employee location for payroll delivery.
Assist with garnishment correspondence which includes calculation of amount to be deducted from the employee?s pay, entry of deduction code into the payroll system and maintaining assigned spreadsheet for submission of payments to accounts payable.
Ensure employee information such as tax exemptions, transfers, terminations, pay rate changes, direct deposit and pay card enrollments are accurately reflected in the system on an on-going basis.
Maintain records of payroll entries and dollars associated with stop payments, voids, reissues of paychecks, and returned direct deposits to ensure accuracy and completion.
Provide information regarding employees? earnings and work history to authorized company personnel, employees of state and federal agencies, and verification of employment to authorized entities.
Develop and sustain collaborative and productive relationships with peers, field operations, and company management.
Generate and audit exception reports periodically to maintain integrity of payroll data such as miscellaneous pay, active without hours, direct deposit not set up, terminations, and re-hires.
Also responsible for balancing payroll runs, producing federal, state and local tax payments, and answering employee questions and troubleshooting issues.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
As a minimum the employee must:

Refrain from intentionally misusing or recklessly interfering with anything that has been provided for Health, Safety and Environmental reasons

Not undertake any task for which authorization and / or training has not been given
Follow relevant quality procedures
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work.
