The primary responsibility of the NOC Supervisor is to provide day to day supervisory support for the NOC analysts. The supervisor provides the NOC analysts with the required support to ensure the correct monitoring of the customer IT environments and that all other related NOC responsibilities are carried out in compliance with the standard operating procedures. This will be accomplished by working alongside the NOC analysts to monitor systems and answer incoming calls, process alerts and tickets. The supervisor will also provide escalation support for the NOC analysts to troubleshoot issues which may require the attention of the higher level engineers and management. The ideal candidate will have excellent communications skills, along with the ability to multitask in order to facilitate the resolution of multiple incidents at any given time.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer facing technical support role. Must have excellent verbal skills and be skilled in customer support capabilities. Able to work in a high paced technical support of Network Operations Center environment. Must have excellent analytical and network troubleshooting skills.
Technical leader in RigNet service management response as it pertains to delivery of managed services to the customer. Interfaces with operations to identify and to solve operations problems.
Monitor RigNet?s network infrastructure as well as customer?s managed networking using NMS tools and technical ability to inspect, analyze, troubleshoot and configure network equipment.
Must have good written skills for documentation of incident response in tickets, reports, customer communication, notifications, escalations and follow up items
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
2 years Technical College degree or equivalent technical skills and 5 years related experience as a network analyst, service management center engineer, field engineer or project engineer in a telecommunications, networking or Information Technology service management role.
Strong knowledge of network and or VSAT technologies.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
Respond to inquiries or complaints from customers.
Effectively present information to top management.
BA/BS degree in related technical field or equivalent experience
3+ years? experience as a NOC supervisor
Experience working with ticketing software
Experience working with IT asset monitoring software
Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting IT systems and networking systems (3 years minimum)
Proven in developing NOC procedures and best practices
