Location: Lafayette, LA
Daily responsibilities will be divided between customer service and packing/shipping and receiving activities. There are a wide variety of administrative and support tasks you?ll need to master in order to be successful in the role. This position requires strong computer, accurate data entry, and excellent customer service skills. The work environment is fast paced and challenging. The ideal candidate is someone who works well in a team environment and who supports growth and process improvement. The Warehouse Material Handler will be responsible for loading, unloading, sorting, staging and transporting products into and out of a warehouse. Under supervision and established guidelines the Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for the day-to-day tasks of shipping, receiving and inventory control.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible to follow all RigNet?s HSE and governmental regulations.
Unit clean up, salvage, pack assets
Maintain organization, cleanliness, and 5S standards within facility and daily workspace
Operate required equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
Follows RigNet?s safety procedures and encourages others to do the same.
Safely operates forklift or other machinery to load, unload, sort, stage and transport product.
Maintains a clean work environment by keeping area free of trash and product in correct locations.
Identify & sort commodities in recycling center and/or special waste as per EPA and DOT regulations
The employee is required to follow all established work processes and procedures.
Pulls materials and equipment from inventory that is used to facilitate the sale, lease, installation and/or maintenance of RigNet?s provided services and products.
Materials staging - This position is responsible to ensure that all parts and inventory requested of the warehouse is pulled and stored in such a way as to easily identify them with its assigned job.
Ship and receive materials (domestic and international locations).
Load and unload trucks.
Forklift Operation ? Move loads of varying sizes from small pallets to larger loads i.e., material basket, small buildings, large antennas and etc on a regular basis. Loads can vary in weight from hundreds of pounds to up to 15,000 lbs.
Arrange ground transportation for materials and equipment.
Assists in controlling inventory of test equipment and spare parts kits
Understand the principles and regulations of hazardous communications and its application to RigNet.
The employee is responsible for the integrity of the inventory system
Unload and offload trucks, unbox, sort, and label product
Verify asset counts, enter skids in system, and build skids, palletizing equipment as needed
Perform asset/pallet put-away into storage racking, load trucks
Ensure quantity, quality, and accuracy of throughput
Collaborate with team members, leads, and supervisors to contribute to facility-wide production & quality goals
Pick orders from warehouse inventory
Unload, move, and store a variety of materials, parts, and products
Utilize power and manual lifts as well as transfer equipment
Store and stack materials according to company standards
Verify/identify parts and/or materials; report shortages or damaged materials
Operate RF Scanners
work with UPS/ FedEx applications
May perform tasks such as: cycle counts, inventory control and shelf stocking
Assist with a broad range of warehouse tasks, utilizing forklifts, pallet movers, drum dollies and carts
Pick, pack and process customer orders.
Perform quality check to ensure package contents fulfill customer order documentation.
Coordinate materials receiving, supply, and movement: including stock identification, loading and unloading, storage, and transfer.
Label new inventory items, identify warehouse bin location.
Perform and assist in inventory control activities, including physical and cycle counts.
Unload and break down freight onto good wood pallets, at a pace that meets or exceeds productivity goals and standards
Sort and organize freight by PO# and SKU#
May include operating various types of material handling equipment
May include sorting, repacking and labeling, pallet repair, and other duties
Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers by maintaining attention to detail and completing assigned work in a timely manner
Will interact with shipping companies, purchasing, customer service and/or branch management
Directs non-standard issues and customer inquiries to senior warehouse personnel
Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders, pulling materials, packing boxes and placing orders in delivery area

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent
Intermediate computer literacy
Skill: Must possess general computer skills.
Ability: Must have the mental aptitude to quickly learn the computer based operational support system (Astea Alliance) and the complex work processes associated with the system.
Some Experience: Hazardous Materials management and Hazardous Communications
Some Experience: Knowledge of the offshore telecommunications industry.
Considerable Experience: Packing, Crate and Banding of materials and equipment.
Some Experience: Microsoft Excel, Word, Access
Considerable Experience: Operating a Forklift
Experience: Shipping and receiving (International and Domestic)
Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

The employee must possess effective communications skills and also possess the ability to interface professionally with other teams within RigNet.
The employee must have the ability to understand and execute complex work processes which includes documented procedures and various computer based system, i.e., SAP B1, PeopleSoft Purchasing, NECHO, ETIME, etc.
The employee?s work outputs are expected to be of high quality.
The employee must possess the ability to multitask.
Must possess the ability to prioritize customer requests
Must be able to lift heavy materials up to 50 lbs
Must be able to walk up 10 ft rolling warehouse stairs multiple times during 1 order pull.
Must be able to stand on concrete floors long periods at a time, up to 1 hr or more at a time.
Must be able to load pallet for shipment with boxes weighing 50 lbs or less. Qty box amount vary from (1 to 15 or 20).
Climb up and down forklift to unload trucks.
The employee must be able to work in the condition as expressed in the section below ?Environmental Working Conditions?.
Environmental Working Conditions
Occasionally works outside in inclement weather conditions.
Frequently works in warehouse that is not climate controlled.
Occasionally moves and stores hazardous materials, i.e., lead acid batteries
The employee must be accessible for after hours and weekend call out and be willing to work a flexible work week.
