PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparation, administration and supervision of Technicians and their equipment in readiness for jobs.
Preparation, administration and supervision of technicians training and development.
Tracking serialized and non-serialized materials leased & purchased equipment, PPE, safety equipment and tools.
Directly supervise field technicians in a consistent manner which aligns with company policies and applicable government regulations as well as planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, coaching and counseling employees, also address and resolve issues related to field operations
Respond to support requests from the service management center when it is determined that a site visit is required to perform corrective maintenance
Prepare and execute preventative maintenance schedule for equipment under maintenance contract and/or service level agreement terms.
Respond to field service issues escalated by field operations techs. Escalate further to the service management manager or engineering if third level escalation is required.
Communicate job progress or issues to Field Service Manager
Ad-hoc tasks as directed and Remain on-call 24x7 as scheduled by the Field Services Manager
Comply with all safety requirements implemented by employer, customers, facility owners or vendors involved in the employee?s daily tasks..
Fulfill the role of on call duty manager/supervisor out of working hours on a rotational basis.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of satellite station systems and services
Previous experience of staff management, including the ability to manage conflict effectively;
Previous experience in an ERP system;
Familiar with the use of Microsoft office products, Outlook, Excel and Word
Ability to work on own initiative with a pro-active and forward thinking approach
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and in a diverse global community
Ability to work flexibly in a changing environment
Experience in the Energy, Maritime and Communications sector desirable
Educated to Degree level in an Electrical, Electronic Engineering or associated discipline
Above in an Electrical, Electronic or Engineering discipline and/ or relevant work experience may be acceptable
Further technical qualifications, certificates or training in engineering, VSAT, Seatel, and communications advantageous.

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require weekend and/or night work and occasional overnight travel.
Squat or Kneel
This position requires a moderate amount of stamina with the ability to perform the above essential job functions and within timetables. Some overtime work may be required.
The employee must be able to lift up to 5 lbs. frequently and up to 15 lbs. occasionally for short durations.
The employee must be able to carry up to 5 lbs. frequently and up to 15 lbs. occasionally for short distances.
The employee must be able to push/pull up to 5 lbs. frequently and up to 15 lbs. occasionally usually from desk level to floor or floor to desk level.
Other Physical Requirements:
Upper extremity usage, motor coordination, range of motion, vision, hearing and balance should be in a range to safely preclude the harm or injury to the employee in this position or the harm or injury to other employees.
The employee will in most cases work in a central air-conditioned building; however, may be exposed to dust, fumes or gases and to changes of weather when exposed to outdoors at job sites or other locations.
