Candidate will participate in the design of major analog blocks utilized in the creation of:
o High speed I/Os capable of multi-Gbps data rates
o Temperature sensing modules for accurate on-die temperature measurements
o Phase-Locked Loops (PLLs)
o Clock generation and distribution circuits
o General Purpose Input-Output buffers (I/O) supporting a variety of protocols
o Miscellaneous custom analog blocks supporting a variety of Networking applications
Candidate must have thorough knowledge of basic analog circuits such as current mirrors, op-amps, band-gap reference generators, data converters, PLL charge pumps, VCO, frequency dividers, etc.
Candidate is expected to work closely with members of the extended Analog & ESD team in a seamless collaborative manner.
Candidate is encouraged to develop solutions of sufficient novelty to merit submission to the US Patent Office.
Design responsibilities will include the ability to integrate individual?s blocks with the greater team?s contributions to achieve a robust total integrated solution. Accountability extends to the success of the total solution.
Responsibilities include providing thorough documentation of various aspects of the design and customer deliverables.
Candidate will be responsible for following up on the robustness of their solutions with the Product, Test, and silicon validation teams.
Experience with silicon debug and arriving at cost-effective fixes is a must. Candidate must be fully prepared to engage in thorough silicon debug and retrofitting checks to prevent similar failures in future designs.
Candidate will be expected to take hands-on ownership of lab validation of any of the greater team?s deliveries.
Candidate will also actively participate in the creation, updating, and maintenance of a common team Design Flow. Flow streamlining, evaluations of novel EDA tools, and activities towards continuous improvement are routinely expected.
Master?s or Ph.D. education level in Electrical Engineering. Hands-on internship or industry experience with analog design through silicon debug highly preferred.
Familiarity with Cadence schematic entry, Spice/Spectre analysis, analog/high-speed layout techniques, floorplanning, & high-level modeling (e.g. MatLab).
