We have immediate opportunities for A/V Technicians in San Jose, CA. There are two full time regular position and three temporary to full time regular positions available.
The primary responsibility of an Audio/Visual Technician is to provide pre and post-sales technician services for FusionStorm customers. The Audio/Visual Technician is expected to act as a team member on large projects and as the primary technician on point projects, providing technical project management and direction as assigned. The position is approximately 40 project planning - including technical surveys, design documentation and implementation plans, and 60 onsite implementation, which requires domestic and international travel.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive audiovisual equipment installation for clients, including low voltage wiring, trim outs, equipment rack setup, telephone systems, plasmas/lcds, projectors, audio ampliers, digital sound processors, speakers and control systems.
Perform cat6 cable pulls with testing and terminations, and be able to pull, test and terminate audio and video cables
Configure and install Savant, Creston, AMX Extron and Shure wireless mic control systems
Install Tandberg and Polycom videoconferencing systems
Assist in installation of displays, screens and projectors
Continual communication with Project Manager on project status and updates
Participation in industry training sessions, seminars and conventions
Maintain personal appearance and hygiene
Essential Education / Experience:
5 or more years experience as an Audio/Visual Technician
Formal education in Audio/Visual or related field
Industry certifications preferred; CTS, AMX, Creston, Extron, Savant
Essential Skills and Competencies:
4 or more years experience as an Audio/Visual Technician
Excellent customer service and verbal/written communcation skills
Must be able to use hand tools, test equipment, pull and terminate a wide variety of cables, know how to solder and crimp various connections
Must have deep understanding of Digital Sound Processors know how to configure and implement,
Experience with CAD and Visio
PC and OSX profficient
TCP/IP networking, and basic networking design
Ability to work on a variety of projects with limited supervision
Solid analytical skills to troubleshoot high-level, complex problems
Clean and valid US drivers license
Ability to travel 50 of time, domestic and international.
