Academic Sales Representative
Knovel is a Web-based application integrating technical information with analytical and search tools to drive innovation and deliver answers engineers can trust. Engineers worldwide tap our validated content, optimized search, and data analysis tools to find relevant data fast and to analyze, document and incorporate it into their work.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote and sell products and services through phone calls, email, demonstrations and occasional site visits.
Generate and qualify leads through cold calling to assigned prospect base.
Manage leads by tracking and following up on them.
Close sales and meet monthly sales goals.
Collaborate with Marketing department on lead generation
Collaborate with Marketing on marketing efforts and product launches; provide analysis and feedback.
Provide customers with accurate information regarding Knovel products and services.
Activate, track, and coordinate customer trials.
Maintain account records and provide activity and performance reports.
Travel to trade shows and conferences; visit major customers, as needed.
Participate in sales and product training both remotely and in person as required.
Requirements:
B.S. degree (MLS a plus) and a minimum five years experience in sales, preferably in the academic institutional market.
Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
Excellent communication skills are required, both oral and written.
Ability to possess the appropriate level of technical/functional expertise and knowledge of Knovel product.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office(Word, PowerPoint, Excel),
Experience with CRM software, Salesforce.com preferred.
