The Acceptance Manager will lead and participate in the deployment acceptance testing and release processes. The manager must implement and manage an effective testing and acceptance process. This involves running a test infrastructure that supports robust communication and testing framework. Acceptance Manager is responsible for guiding and driving a successful pre-deployment process for each assigned project - these include analyze requirements and create test plans and associated scripts, execution of test scripts, and recordation of the execution results (pass/fail). Also, this individual is expected to research and decipher scope of issue as well as determine severity of issue or defect before engaging OPS team with facts. Subsequently, must be able to articulate to others the issue and importance. Manage short and long term operational/strategic business activities - by developing, enhancing and maintaining operational information and models. Also develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication and organizational skills, with a proven track record in leading teams to successfully deliver testing orientated projects.
Manage the creation of test plans and scripts for a release. Accountable for the execution of detailed test plans and scripts to verify software functionality and adherence to business requirements. Must document all results and post results as report to project team.
Define the scope of testing within the context of each release / delivery. Implementing and evolving appropriate measurements and metrics against product and application under test. Planning and managing the testing effort for any given release. Mapping test plans back to requirements.
Define the overall test approach, test roles and responsibilities, recourse requirements, and deliverables.
Develop daily / weekly status reports on the state of testing, defect management, schedule and risks.
Work closely with Deployment and OPS teams.
Responsible for understanding Business requirements, OPS requirements, and developing domain knowledge for all Acceptance testing areas of ownership.
The ability to extrapolate testing scenario conclusions into operational recommendations or estimated impact results when a solution is deployed into production.
Participate in working and review sessions on business requirements, functional requirements, test cases, test data and final deployment.
Creating business scenarios to conduct the end-to-end testing.
Assist deployment team, as needed to ensure all testing completed on time.
Required skills:
Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience.
Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.
LEADERSHIP
Strong leadership, management and test coordination skills.
3+ year experience in test coordination, with at least one year of experience on highly complex, high profile projects.
2+ year experience managing and leading user acceptance testing.
In-depth test coordination experience on highly complex technology based projects with a track record of success.
1+ year or project management, leadership or coordination experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of test management.
Strong knowledge of test management and software development methodologies.
Ability to oversee and manage multiple assignments, priorities, and projects in a demanding environment.
COMMUNICATION
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to facilitate and lead discussions.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
3+ year experience writing and executing test plans, test cases, and scripts.
Experience in data analysis, data testing and regression testing.
Experience working within a software development lifecycle.
Business Intelligence and reporting experience highly desired.
Working knowledge of automated testing tools, data integration testing, database management, data warehouse testing, and object and/or data modeling.
Experience in the movement of applications and information onto a variety of platforms.
