Merrimack is creating a new division, Merrimack Healthcare Solutions (MHS), with the goal of implementing a novel, more effective approach to the commercialization of pharmaceuticals that is different form the traditional ?playbook? used by large biopharmaceutical organizations. MHS is responsible for working with customers and partners to ensure the successful launch and rapid adoption of MM-398 and the rest of Merrimack?s future therapeutic and diagnostic products. We are looking for experienced, innovative individuals who want to explore novel ways to commercialize Merrimack?s therapeutic and diagnostic products in tomorrow?s dynamic healthcare environment.
We are seeking an individual to be responsible for successfully developing and executing on a strategic plan targeting public and private payers that demonstrates the value proposition for MM-398 and leads to successful market access and reimbursement. The individual in this position will interact on a day-to-day basis with other leaders within MHS as well as the late-stage development team and senior management to ensure that the market access strategy and tactics are for MM-398 are developed and implemented successfully.
Job Responsibilities
Ensuring that at launch, product is supported with a robust, evidence-based payer value proposition and key messages that are aligned with commercial strategies
Conducting payer and stakeholder research including quantitative and qualitative pricing studies and payer market analyses to assess payer landscape and develop and implement optimal market access strategies
Creating effective relationships with public and private payers and other stakeholders
Identifying key health economics/outcomes research (HEOR) metrics utilized by payers and stakeholders and developing a plan for articulating value-added product benefits to various audiences
Designing and managing HEOR-related activities including literature reviews, retrospective and prospective studies, cost-effectiveness and budget impact models
Creating and executing the master publication plan for support of all HEOR activities to support access strategies in order to effectively communicate research findings internally and externally
Designing, developing and implementing access strategies for both public and private payers
Assessing the need and creating and implementing required contracting strategies with major customers
Supporting early-stage product teams to ensure that market access requirements are understood and built into product development plans
Requirements
7+ years of related HEOR or market access experience at biotech, pharma or consulting organization with specific experience in oncology
Experience building pricing, reimbursement and/or HEOR dossiers
Understanding of and experience with reimbursement/access environment for key international markets
Pre-launch and launch experience
Creative, strategic thinking with proven success applying analytical approaches to business problem solving as well as turning data and/or qualitative insights into actionable recommendations and solutions
Proven ability to lead and manage interdisciplinary teams in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
Strong leadership and influencing skills
Experience managing and mentoring multiple team members
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passion for fighting cancer
