As an Account Executive for Attachmate, you will drive the sales of innovative software solutions and consulting services. We are looking for a strong enterprise software sales rep to be responsible for selling into some of our largest accounts in the Mid-Atlantic area. You will have full responsibility for these accounts, new business and renewals. You will also be responsible for generating new accounts within your assigned territory.
Your primary function will be to successfully generate revenue by forecasting business and market needs, formulating and implementing sales strategy, achieving sales targets, and ensuring customer satisfaction in the business-to-business market. Develop business strategies to ensure achievement of sales targets, by understanding market requirements, company objectives, product capabilities, and future industry developments and trends
Identify and qualify named accounts at the "C" level
Participate in demonstrations and presentations
Develop, negotiate, and close multi-million dollar deals
Manage assigned accounts by building strong relationships with customers, gaining a thorough understanding of their requirements and long term goals, informing customers of new developments with the product, facilitating troubleshooting, and resolution of any and all problems.
Use a consultative solutions sales approach to identify client needs and represent the solution.
Manage all direct sales and account activities targeted at enterprise customers in assigned accounts. Develop and manage a qualified pipeline of targeted opportunities on a continual basis.
Function as the primary business contact with industry leaders, with responsibility for licensing our solutions and establishing partnerships for long-term growth.
Work in collaboration with Sales Managers, Area Directors, Sales Engineers and other Account Executives/Managers/Reps to provide pre/post sales technical expertise to support the sales effort.
College degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and consulting services.
Knowledge of strategic/large account sales techniques and processes including the ability to understand customer needs, the ability to overcome objections, the ability to analyze return on investment, closing the sale, and the ability to negotiate complex deals.
8 or more years of proven achievement in software sales. Experience selling to executives at a Fortune 500 level using consultative and solution selling techniques. Background in large, complex software sales. National account experience, preferably serving Fortune 500 accounts.
Proven track record in identifying enterprise opportunities, building a predictable pipeline and forecast, and closing complex enterprise sales.
Consistent history of over-quota performance.
Proven track record in penetrating new clients, delivering effective solutions presentations, and managing existing client relationships.
Must be able to penetrate and engage at the executive level.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
Ability to move a complex sale through the defined sales process.
Commitment to excel, positive attitude, and high level of energy and enthusiasm.
Regional travel is required (40% expected).
