PublicEngines is currently seeking individuals with experience working in law enforcement or an extensive background selling software solutions to law enforcement agencies, to work in the role of account executive. The focus of this position will be to accelerate the company's sales efforts in the public safety market. They will work mainly through telephone sales to create market opportunities and will own the sales cycle from initial contact through close. The candidate must be able to spend a substantial amount of the time on the phone creating new customer opportunities and pursuing leads generated by marketing.
The Inside Sales Rep will be responsible for revenue development for the company's three main products SaaS (software as a service) products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong telephone-based sales background and experience selling software. Previous experience in selling into public safety organizations and local and state government is a significant differentiator.
LOCATION: The position can be located in the Laguna Niguel, CA or Draper, UT offices. Remote position may be considered for well qualified candidates.
Generate new sales opportunities through telephone prospecting and fielding inbound leads from marketing
Manage sales prospect from initial contact through to sale
Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
Educate customers about features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction and demonstrate the products online
Proactively recommend products based on cost, availability and requirements to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
Increase sales opportunities by cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items
Calculate and present pricing and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customer requirements
Accurately maintain customer records and process customer transactions
Work closely with Client Services to coordinate post-sale handoff and ensure a smooth transition to integration and customer on-boarding
Maintain an understanding of key industry trends, customer requirements, and competitors and report back to team
Desired Skills & Experience
Minimum three years experience in telephone-based sales
Experience with a consultative selling methodology
Experience and successful track record in selling to public safety (especially law enforcement), or state and local government is highly desirable
Prior track record of selling software is a requirement; experience cloud-based services is a strong advantage
A proven ability to obtain sales quotas and target objectives
Excellent demonstration and communications skills
Ability to navigate/manage technical, product and business issues within an account
Previous experience in being able to price products or services based on multiple factors
Aptitude and experience working with contracts and agreements desirable
Salary and commission structure commensurate with the position as well as very competitive benefit package will be offered to a qualified candidate.
