Account Manager - Tier 1 Accounts DataDirect Networks

Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
The Tier 1 Account Manager will primarily be responsible for development
and growth of one of the company?s most strategic customers. The Tier 1 Account Manager will lead all sales related facets of strategic alignment, relationship management, sales process and engagement
The objective of this role is to develop and integrate relationship model and sales approach that can allow DDN to partner with targeted customers in a performance based solution delivery model.
The Tier 1 account manager will oversee alignment with key account business
drivers and assure continuity between sales and delivery. The Strategic Account Management Group represents DDN?s highest potential growth accounts. As such, the Account Manager will need to be expert in all aspects of large account management and planning.
This position will have top line and growth objectives to support DDN?s sales
goals. The position will also serve to advise Sr. Management on developments within the marketplace, competitive intelligence, emerging trends impacting clients and innovation/strategy development as we bring new solutions to market.
The Account Manager will be responsible for the creation and implementation of a strategic, global, customer management program
Qualifications for this role include:
Bachelors Degree (MBA Preferred)
Minimum 5-7 years? experience selling enterprise storage, within specified market; 10+ years overall sales experience.
Knowledge of the technology industry, especially infrastructure and storage products with a strong technical understanding
Must possess a storage industry reputation for negotiating large transactions with professionalism, integrity, and a passion for winning.
Competitive, refuse-to-lose attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent team building and influencing skills.
Consistent history of exceeding quota while maintaining customer satisfaction and required product margins.
Strategic account planning experience, and regular territory planning, including weekly reporting.
Alignment with customer business drivers and initiatives from a results perspective
Comprehensive understanding of the customer from a strategy, financial performance, compelling event (news/developments of relevance to DDN), relationship, and sample initiative standpoint
Sales of DDN?s solutions to strategic, targeted account
Build the brand of the company as a premier provider to Tier 1 accounts
Manage and maintain a customer lead database within SFDC
Attend internal and external training in cases where it may benefit the team
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, problem solving, and time management skills.
Willingness and ability to travel 30%-40% of the time.
Fluency in English
