Accountant SmartSynch

This position provides a variety of tasks for the Accounting department in the General Ledger area in order to ensure effective and accurate financial operations. This includes the areas of inventory, account analysis and general ledger maintenance. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure that municipal finances and customer accounts are accurate and up to date.
Duties

Ability to carry out specified work procedures in a timely manner
Complete inventory review and reconciliation
Prepare monthly journal entries per closing schedule
Prepare analysis of accounts as required
Provide monthly reporting information
Cross-train in all accounting areas as back-up
Support management in procedure implementations
Coordinate with departments about expense related items
Other tasks as required

Qualifications

Must be detail oriented and organized to work in a fast-moving environment
3-5 years of experience in an accounting environment
Accounting degree a must
CPA or desire to pursue CPA a plus
Previous experience with NetSuite software a plus
Proficiency level of intermediate Microsoft Excel required, proficiency in other software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint helpful
Strong written and verbal communication skills
