General Description:
The Accounting Analyst will work closely with Capital Program Sr. Analyst in maintaining fixed asset records. The Accounting Analyst is responsible for entering and updating fixed assets and circuit connectivity information in Great Plains and various schedules. This position is also responsible for conducting physical inventory of fixed assets for all data centers and preparing various reports upon results.
Key Responsibilities:
? Record all fixed assets data in Great Plains fixed assets module
? Process bar coded fixed assets records in Panatracker inventory and asset tracking system
? Assist with researching discrepancies between received invoices and bar coded equipment records
? Prepare fixed assets records for initial physical inventory and bar coding of fixed assets for all data centers including working with vendors to gather information about serial numbers
? Conduct initial fixed asset inventory including physical examination/count of hardware equipment in data centers, tagging and validation or input information using a hand held scanner into Panatracker inventory and asset tracking system
? Conduct periodic physical inventories of fixed assets across all data centers
? Prepare schedules and summaries upon results of inventories
? Assist with reviewing, researching and analyzing discrepancies between accounting records and physical inventory
? Update construction in progress spreadsheet with monthly invoice information
? Assist with preparation of personal property tax schedules
? Update connectivity spreadsheet for circuit cancellations on regular basis
? Review change orders from the management system for customer circuit cancellations and follow up on their cancellations
? Assist in preparing monthly connectivity summary spreadsheet
? Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by Director of Finance and Human Resources
Requirements:
? Bachelor?s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study (CPA candidate preferred)
? Strong attention to detail, accuracy, making and keeping commitments, and meeting deadlines.
? A minimum of 3 years of related accounting experience and GAAP background.
? Previous fixed assets experience required
? Ability to travel to multiple locations
? Strong Analytical skills
? Strong computer skills, especially in Excel.
? Experience with Dynamics Great Plains and Crystal Report writer a plus.
? Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written and must be able to interact with internal and external clients and various levels of management.
