SUMMARY:
The Accounting Manager will have hands-on responsibility for managing the accounting records and the transaction processes of a mid-size company. This position will be responsible for the accounting close process, financial reporting, forecast to actual reporting, internal controls, cash reconciliation, treasury/banking/risk management activities, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and tax/audit relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive the monthly accounting close process and preparation of financial statements by the 15th day after period close. Prepare Management Reports such as Forecast to Actual variance reports, account analysis summaries and reports, Accounts Receivable/Payables Aging and Cash Flow Reporting and Analysis
Manage the financial reporting to ensure Balance Sheets and Profit &Loss statements are in compliance with GAAP and company accounting & financial policies and the integrity of company?s financial data
Overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
Assist in the preparation of budgets, profit and loss scenarios and cash flow projections to reflect changes in business dynamics
Help coordinate and prepare department-level forecast to actual variance reports and explanations to be used to drive business decisions and mark progress against department financial plans and goals
Develop and implement internal controls and financial/accounting systems ensuring alignment with company strategy and growth plans
Sponsor and champion Finance & Accounting related initiatives/projects and process improvements to increase operation efficiency/effectiveness and enhance internal controls
Ensure all Company control policies, processes and procedures are fully implemented and strictly followed
Be the primary point of contact for the interaction with the tax accounting and audit firms
Other duties as required
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Credibility, leadership and integrity, capable of generating a high degree of respect and trust from senior management and others
Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to develop effective internal and external relationships
Significant depth and understanding of US GAAP required
Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately, in a timely manner
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics with 7+ years of professional relevant experience in the Finance/Accounting related field
MBA and/or CPA certification is desirable
Prior Accounting Manager and/or Controller-type experience in small to mid-size company considered a plus
