This position reports to the Corporate Controller and is responsible for coordinating and owning all internal enterprise-wide consolidated financial analyses in support of the monthly close process. This position is a key player in working with the domestic entities to monitor corporate general ledger activities, governance and compliance across the organization. This person is ideally a CPA who can tightly manage month-end close activities and has prior experience in preparing/reporting on detailed financial analysis.
Help organize and facilitate timely month-end close process
Entity-wide financial statement consolidation
Prepare financial statements
Recording revenue of equipment sales, service, and sale lease-back arrangements
Credit and collections management, including financial analysis of prospective customers
Application of A/R receipts
Prepare journal vouchers (JV?s) related to precious metal reclaim process
Analysis and JV?s for federal and state tax incentives
Recording of company-earned Renewable Energy Credits
Recording and tracking of restructuring charges (short-term responsibility only)
Perform G/L account reconciliations for accounts affected by transactions noted above
Act as liaison between various organizations within the Company on process related matters, (e.g., Sales and Service)
Drive standardization, simplification and automation of processes in all areas of responsibility
Continuously challenge current practices and procedures, as the business evolves, to implement improvements in policy, procedures and systems
Ensure compliance with corporate finance procedures and maintain financial internal controls
Implement close process improvements, support close and consolidation standardization to optimize the close to report process
Assist with annual audit support
Required Knowledge and Skills
5 to 7+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with 3+ years of Big 4 experience preferred
BS degree in Accounting or related field
CPA would be preferred
Experience with JD Edwards would be a plus
Extensive knowledge of general ledger accounting, capable of independent problem solving and strong computer skills
Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external parties
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage vendors and business partners
Exceptional organizational skills and very detail oriented
Key attributes of candidate include project management, forward thinking and process improvement.
Able to meet assigned deadlines
Able to thrive in a challenging, demanding and rapidly changing environment
Working knowledge of Hyperion
Some domestic travel required
