The Accounting Manager will be a key member of the Accounting and Finance team reporting to the Director of Finance/Corporate Controller. This position is responsible for implementing best practice accounting principles and procedures relating to all aspects of the accounting function including: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory Control, Revenue Recognition, Monthly Account Reconciliations and Payroll. Position is also responsible for internal and external financial reporting and internal controls.
General Ledger Accounting & Monthly Close
Manages annual independent audit including preparing financial statements and footnotes.
Research technical accounting matters and prepare supporting memos with conclusions.
Monitor changes in accounting and reporting requirements, provide updates to finance team and assist with the implementation of new standards.
Maintains and reconciles subsidiary ledgers and reviews key account reconciliations by researching transaction level entries and resolving discrepancies.
Manages labor and overhead standard cost system to ensure accurate inventory cost and cost of sales including product line reporting.
Utilize and maintain ERP and other reporting tools to ensure the accuracy of data and financial reporting
Maintains equity tracking system for all stock-based transactions and tracks stock-based compensation expenses.
Responsible for revenue recognition accounting.
Prepares and completes the following: accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end financial statements; monthly budget/forecast to actual reporting including analysis of variances; and monthly executive reporting package with key financial metrics.
Miscellaneous Accounting Functions
Supervise and responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivables and payroll processes.
Participates in the implementation of cloud-based solutions for expense tracking and purchasing functions
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, or have equivalent experience
CPA and public accounting experience
Must have 5-7 years of relevant accounting and reporting experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of accounting theory and the practical application
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
Working knowledge of various ERP systems
Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Must be very detail-oriented, organized, operate independently
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience working in life sciences or medical device manufacturing environment highly desired
