We need someone who is flexible, friendly, professional & positive!
Position Description
This is a well-rounded position ideal for an individual seeking broad responsibility over month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, technical accounting, who has a proven ability to build relationships cross-functionally, and create and improve processes. The successful candidate will be self-directed, honest, service-driven, and highly organized. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced team environment and possess the ability to deliver timely and accurate results while fielding multiple requests simultaneously. Analytical and creative approaches to problem-solving are essential, as are effective oral and written communication skills. Advanced Excel competency and the ability to execute comprehensive reporting are required.
Required Skills
7?10 years of direct accounting experience in software, technology or a related field, SaaS experience preferred
Experience at a mid-stage fast-growing company
Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP, including software revenue recognition, equity accounting, capital leases, purchase accounting, etc.
Deep knowledge of how a strong internal control environment should be designed and operated
Willingness to be hands-on in performing accounting and reporting duties, in addition to management of accounting and/or administrative resources
Experience selecting and approving changes to accounting and other supporting information systems
Ability to review, analyze, and manage compliance with customer, partner and vendor contracts
Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships cross-functionally and with customers, partners and vendors
Experience with general ledger allocation methodology
Manage commission plans, payroll, new hires, option grants
Ability to work well on teams and represent finance/accounting interests cross-functionally
Provide excellent service to all accounting & finance "customers"
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Self-directed, decisive, honest , prioritizes healthy work-life balance
Combination of public accounting and industry experience
CPA, MBA preferred
BA, BS, Masters in Accounting
Responsibilities
Manage all facets of the general ledger and monthly close process, including compliance with US GAAP
Primary responsibility for all aspects of daily accounting: cash management, A/P, A/R, Payroll, Reconciliations
Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of financial statements to management
Analyze results and provide feedback to management, including revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, cash flow
Responsible for monthly reporting to publisher partners and compliance with partner contracts
Identify, design, implement and maintain improved business and internal control processes
Facilitating the external financial statement audit
Filing of sales and use tax returns
Contribute significantly to the building/training/leading of an exceptional accounting and finance team that will be efficient and effective in supporting the fast growth of our company
Assist on other projects, including tax, valuation, etc.
