Sr Director of Finance
Support the finance / accounting department by managing the Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Payroll functions.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead accounting functions including maintenance of general ledger, AP, AR, and payroll; ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Leverage strengths of the current accounting staff; improve current work processes to make them more robust and scalable to support Company?s growth.
Establish internal controls procedures and work instructions; recommend modifications to existing corporate policies and procedures as they relate to AP, AR and Payroll.
Administer the Concur expense reporting tool; provide guidance to accounting staff to resolve all expense report issues; responsible for Sunshine Act compliance and reporting.
Establish credit analysis system; conduct credit checks on all customers and use sound judgment in recommending and managing credit lines.
Ensure payroll is processed with speed and accuracy through reconciliation and analysis of payroll records and transactions; serve as liaison to employees for payroll related questions; proactively verify compliance with federal and state payroll requirements; stay current with changes in law.
Perform GL month-end closing including journal entries and account analysis for assigned GL accounts.
Maintain fixed asset system; reconcile fixed asset accounts to G/L; coordinate annual physical fixed asset count.
Serve as backup staff for AP, AR, and Payroll during short-term absences.
Assist in coordination of annual financial audit.
Assist with special projects as requested.
BS Degree in Accounting is required
7-10 years of progressively relevant experiences, preferably in the medical device industry.
Experience in a managerial role; demonstrated ability to train, motivate, and mentor staff.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people both inside and outside accounting.
Ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
Creative and flexible (open to change).
Well organized to manage high volume and diverse work activities, including ability to re-prioritize with changing business demands.
Take ownership with proactive approach to problem solving.
Proficient with Excel and accounting systems, Expandable preferred, Concur is a plus.
Solid understanding of accounting workflows in AP, AR, and Payroll and GAAP.
Attention to detail; analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks to meet pre-defined timelines.
Sense of humor and ability to remain calm and composed under stress of deadlines and demands of a growing company.
