Job Qualifications (basic job description):
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for oversight of the general accounting and reporting functions. The selected candidate will perform other critical tasks including, but not limited to; managing the accounts payable and payroll cycles, preparing customer invoices, maintaining the general ledger, assistance in monthly financial reporting, assisting with the month and year end close, and reviewing internal controls.
Manage general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash reporting and travel expenses.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Analyze and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Prepare and analyze monthly cost trend reports, investigate variances.
Perform Indirect rate process and variance analysis.
Reconcile all intercompany balances, resolving issues with appropriate accounting contacts.
Provide financial interpretation, analysis, support and monitor costs/charges for appropriateness, accuracy and compliance as it relates to government accounting/accounting standards rules and regulations.
Assist in managing external financial statement and regulatory audits.
Perform monthly financial close process.
Minimum Requirements (education and experience):
Minimum of 8 years of corporate accounting as an Accounting Manager is required, with at least a minimum of 4 of these years working in a government contracting environment.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
Ability to work independently with minimum direction.
CPA level candidate is desired for this role, with excellent core accounting skills.
Must have experience with Deltek GCS, Deltek Time & Expense and ADP. Cognos Impromptu skills desired. Cognos TM1 experience is helpful.
In-depth knowledge of FAR and CAS regulations.
Exposure and understanding to manufacturing is helpful. Experience in Visual Manufacturing is helpful.
Professional demeanor with excellent written and oral communication skills for interaction with all levels within the organization, along with external customers and vendors.
Ability to work cross functionally to resolve accounting issues.
Ability to work additional hours during peak times.
Advanced skill level with MS Excel.
Must be a US Person.
