Fast growing semiconductor company, located in Mountain View, CA, is looking to add to its growing Finance organization. The Accounting Manager will be one who is self-reliant and intimately familiar with the day-to-day transactions that originate within an Accounting department of a public company. The Accounting Manager leads a team of 5 and reports to the U.S. Controller.
You will gain a deep understanding of the systems and processes that are responsible for supporting the Company?s accounting processes, up to and including the consolidations process and you will play a critical role in the record-to-report process. The position?s cross-functional partners include Compliance, Tax, Planning, Human Resources and IT.
Month-end: Oversee the daily activities of the Accounting department, including operating expenses, accruals, prepaids and fixed assets. Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations. Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities. Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure. Assist in reviewing the balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis and other analysis of financial results.
Audit: Coordinate the quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors.
Process improvement: Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Recommend Oracle system improvements/enhancements to streamline workflows. Develop and implement policies and procedures to achieve operational efficiencies.
Controls: implement internal controls for Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance.
SEC reporting: Assist with preparation and review of 10-Q and 10-K, including preparation of financial statements, footnotes and publication.
International accountants: Interface with 4 international Controllers for month-end close, payroll and accounts payable.
Technical accounting: Assist drafting the Company?s policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Supervision: Manage existing team, provide guidance for staff?s professional development, recruit new teammates when needed.
Taxation: Assist Tax with requested schedules for preparation of federal, state and local filings.
Stock option administration: Oversee stock option administration, including computing FAS123-R actual and forecasted results.
Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelors in Business, Finance or Accounting. MBA a plus.
Big-4 CPA experience required ? please do not submit resume unless this is satisfied.
8 years minimum experience post Big-4, including 2 or more years managing.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and applicable SEC regulations.
Previous experience as an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller in a public company preferred. Prior management of domestic or international staff.
Experiences with consolidated accounting, SOX-404 and SEC reporting preferred.
Adaptability to rapid business and organizational changes that accompany a high growth organization.
Strong problem-solving skill-set; able to methodically break down a complex problem and reconstruct an efficient solution.
Prior software experience to include MS Office, Oracle, Great Plains EASi, Equityedge and ADP.
