Summary
The Accounting Manager/Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting transactions and the general ledger. Critical areas of focus include general ledger maintenance, balance sheet account reconciliations, revenue recognition, tax provision and tax compliance, oversight of payroll, and assistance with budgeting and financial planning and analysis.
Description
Oversee AP, AR and Payroll processing (review of journal entries, reconciliations and other work products).
Revenue accounting ? ensure recognition is appropriate.
Oversee of month end close and quarter close.
General ledger maintenance and account reconciliation preparation; some journal entry preparation.
Sales/use, business tax and property tax filings and payments.
Assist with equity accounting and administration ? as needed.
Major contributor to Internal Financial reporting and variance analysis with FP&A.
Liaison for external audit including related workpaper preparation.
Work with 3rd party tax provider in preparation of tax provision and tax returns ? income tax data collection as needed.
Intercompany and elimination transactions (as applicable).
Consolidations (as applicable).
Foreign taxes (as applicable).
Internal Financial reporting.
Assist FP&A with Budget/Forecasting as needed.
Assistance with development of budget variance reports.
Other tasks as required.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles required, as well as a degree in accounting; CPA or CPA candidate preferred, public accounting experience a plus.
Six to seven years of related experience in a corporate accounting group and Big-Four Accounting Firm.
Experience with accounting for foreign currency transactions.
Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and strong knowledge of, and skill with, financial systems; experience with Navision preferred.
Experience with SEC filings a plus.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced start up environment.
Very detail-oriented and well organized.
Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of the organization. Provide feedback and facilitate necessary resources.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across department lines. The ability to influence decisions and monitor progress against aggressive goals.
