Accounting Software Developer, Post-Trade Analytics [Consultant] Liquidnet Holdings

Post-Trade Analytics is a small, agile team focused on Members? biggest remaining problems: maximizing the impact of the commission dollars they spend and helping them analyze their orders to quickly find the best way to execute them. We provide these services through Liquidnet?s desktop trading application and also deliver several web applications to directly provide transaction cost analytics and commission aggregation and analysis to Liquidnet Members.
We need a Java developer with a strong knowledge of accounting software to build a subledger to integrate with our commission management suite.
What You?ll be Doing
Work with our finance team, business analysts, and developers to design and implement a subledger to serve as a cash management system for our commission management suite.
Design and implement everything: database, APIs for application integration, services.
Develop a migration strategy for our existing transactions to the new subledger.
Work with our developers to migrate our existing web applications.
Build extensive unit tests to insure that features are implemented correctly.
Ensure that testers and test automation engineers understand features and how to test them.
The Background You Need to Have
A solid knowledge of accounting principles, with experience building accounting software.
The ability to design APIs and write code that other people love to work with.
Excellent database design skills.
Comfortable working closely with others in a small agile development team, but able to work and overcome obstacles independently.
Expertise with Java or Groovy.
Experience You Don?t Need but for Which You Get Bonus Points.
Basic proficiency in Linux.
