Accounting Specialist Optoro

Optoro, a fast-paced, rapidly expanding online retail services company is seeking an Accounting Specialist to help manage the increasing volume of work for our growing finance department. The position will report directly to the Controller, and will offer the opportunity to develop and demonstrate accounting skills and build new processes, procedures and internal controls in a challenging environment while meaningfully impacting the development of a VC-backed company into an industry leader.

The ideal candidate will be eager to work in a small business environment, one that is destined, however, to grow into something much larger. Self-motivation, keen attention to detail and a strong willingness to not only challenge assumptions but also offer solutions will serve well.

Responsibilities will include the day-to-day...
-A/P management
-Bank reconciliations
-Paperless retention management
-Assisting with the month and year end close

And the bigger picture...
-Maintenance of company standards, as well as policy and procedure enforcement
-Development and management of internal controls
-Interfacing with external auditors

Academic and work experiences should include...
-3+ years in private company accounting, public accounting experience a plus
-BA or BS in Accounting, or similar
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
-Experience working with QuickBooks
-Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
