Accounting Supervisor Northern Power Systems

Reporting to: Vice President, Finance
Summary
The Accounting Supervisor has lead responsibility for our accounting team and operations for Northern Power Systems. From an accounting perspective, this will include the responsibility of monthly, quarterly and annual closes as well as supervising all functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice billing and general ledger accounting for both of the Company?s business units.
The ideal candidate will have an operational capability to develop best practices in a high-growth environment and will be able to deliver superior leadership and communication. They must also have experience utilizing multiple software programs in a manufacturing environment, including financial accounting software and ERP solutions. He/she will build and supervise a high performance accounting team across multiple sites. The Accounting Supervisor will report to the Vice President of Finance.
Responsibilities
Champion the execution of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes
Manage and supervise daily operation of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, cash receipts, and general ledger activities
Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, daily accounting entries, closing entries and audit schedules
Plan, direct and assign projects, programs and activities; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; identify and resolve problems
Oversee and support the accounting functions of the Company?s European operations
Monitor and suggest changes to accounting policies, practices and systems as needed
Recruit and develop world class talent to create a high performance corporate accounting function
Guide and support staff in providing internal customer service
Support all external financial statement, government, insurance and tax related audits
Provide comprehensive and timely reporting and analysis to management as needed
Required Qualifications
3 - 5 years of accounting leadership, including public and/or private accounting experience in a dynamic growth environment
Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performance teams
Bachelor degree in accounting
Strong technical accounting knowledge
Proven ability to implement and maintain internal control over day to day accounting operations and financial close processes
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (MBA) and/or certifications (CPA, CMA, etc.)
Public accounting experience
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and FRx reporting
Engagement in ERP or financial systems planning and implementations
Multi-national environment experience
Manufacturing / Supply Chain company experience
Experience with public company filings and external reporting compliance
