Accounts Payable Manager HubSpot

The responsibilities for the job include the following:
- Manage entire global Accounts Payable process, including full responsibility for accurate G/L account coding, recurring invoicing, corporate credit cards, periodic check runs/ACH, and managing vendor and employee communications
- Help drive the implementation of a purchase order system, including the setup of internal controls commensurate with HubSpot culture and desire for simplicity and flexibility
- Key participant in all month-end close activities, specifically accruals
- Manage T&E processing, including audit and coordination with Payroll reimbursement
- Preparing and analyzing account and vendor spending, as needed
- Preparation of periodic audit packages and auditor inquiries
- Preparing for potential IPO, including implementing AP internal controls, streamlining processes, segregation of duties, and creating and maintaining training documentation
- Liaison with banks on any accounts payable issues (i.e. stop payments, transmission of data files)
- Ensure timely and accurate issuance of 1099's inclusive of Federal and State filings
- Assisting with special projects as needed, such as other system implementations (fixed assets)
- Assist with MA sales and use tax returns and audits, including ensuring application of applicable use tax
- Evaluate further use of electronic processing of accounts payable and any other method to improve efficiency. Utilize best practices, benchmarks and metrics to improve organization
- Other responsibilities and initiatives as assigned
The skills, experience, and education required for this position include the following:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience)
- Work requires a minimum of 5 years Accounts Payable or similar accounting experience. Previous leadership role preferred
- Extreme attention to detail, constant strive for perfection, and initiative to learn
- Can-do positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills, strong customer service focus and timely follow-through
- Expert understanding of accruals, cut-off and GAAP as it relates to the AP function
- Experience with a major General Ledger System is required, NetSuite preferred
- Ability to function in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
- Good presentation and coaching skills for educating internal clients on accounting principles and reasons for internal controls
