About the Job:
Twilio is seeking an experienced payroll and accounts payable specialist to own these key accounting processes. The ideal candidate is someone who participates enthusiastically, works well under deadlines, multi-tasks, and solves problems; all while delivering excellent results. Position reports to Assistant Controller and is based in Twilio's San Francisco office.
Check mail daily and distribute as needed (mail is scanned & emailed daily through outside service company called Earth Class Mail)
Maintain vendor files and complete ?new vendor? set-up forms
Maintain invoice files
Process invoices and expense reports regularly
Initiate weekly check run in Bill.com to ensure timely & accurate payment of invoices
Respond to vendor and employee queries through our payables email
Print manual checks (as needed)
Initiate wire payments
Process cash transactions related to payables in main operating account
Assist in payables related month end duties
Manage annual 1099 tax reporting
Corporate Credit Card
Manage corporate credit cards usage and receipts (currently 3)
Reconcile credit cards as part of month end close process
Complete monthly payment of credit card
Continually review transactions and respond to bank queries as needed
Full cycle payroll for the organization (US and International)
Prepare reports for payroll, accounting and other departments
Comply with all payroll related tax and compliance, such as multi-state payroll tax filings, SF Payroll Tax, and misc filings
Maintain the GL for payroll related accounts, and own month end related duties
W2 processing and distribution
Provide excellent customer service to internal payroll requests
Prepare 401k and other benefit management reports and remit funds to administrator, when needed
Assist with the administration of Twilio?s stock option plan
Complete special reporting and ad hoc projects as needed
College degree preferred
Minimum three years of accounting experience, preferably in technology and in a high volume environment
Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
Solid understanding of general payroll compliance; Extreme attention to details and deadlines
Well organized, with excellent skills in managing time and ability to multi-task.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Strong MS Office skills (Microsoft Excel and Word).
Understanding of QuickBooks or similar accounting system
Prior experience with ADP or similar payroll system required
Familiar with cloud based technologies, such as Google Docs, Box.com, Gmail for Business
