Responsible for collecting, processing and maintaining all records related to performing Accounts Payable. Supports quality objectives as established by senior management.REPORTS TO: Senior Accountant
LOCATION: San Diego, CA
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process full cycle Accounts Payable from entering invoices to filing pay packets.
Processes Expense Reports.
Review GL coding for accuracy.
Enforces internal travel and purchasing policies.
Verifies information and resolves any discrepancies.
Interfaces with Purchasing department as needed.
Contacts new supplier to obtain W-9 forms.
Performs tasks associated with month-end close, including compilation of invoice accruals.
Follows company policies and procedures.
Compiles information in preparation of reports.
Prepares 1099 statements and VAT returns.
Makes recommendations for improvements as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Support Payroll administration
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred. Requires the knowledge and skills typically acquired through a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience in accounts payable functions.
Additional Requirements:
Requires applying excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with vendors.
Works on assignments that are semi-routine to moderately complex tasks in accounts payable where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice or format is required.
Requires knowledge of the 3-way P.O. matching invoices and SOX compliance as it relates to the Purchase-to-Pay process.
Ability to interface with other employees in all departments.
Ability to communicate company policies in a professional and tactful manner. Requires strong customer service skills.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Requires a moderately-skilled level in computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as ERP system experience. Must be familiar with typical A/P modules of an ERP system. Experience with Great Plains required, Concur is a plus.
