As AR Specialist, you will: Work on Business to Business Collections which will include:
Research/gather history on past due and customer credit balance accounts to determine status. Contact customers on past due accounts via email and/or phone calls. Follow-up to ensure timely payment. Monitor customers who should be put on hold, prepay for their orders, etc. Become thoroughly familiar with the A/R aging, its customers and reasons for past due accounts. Maintain a current A/R aging. Reconcile customer accounts as needed. Liaise with Account Managers on questions and/or to assist with collections from their clients. Retain appropriate records of all delinquent accounts, incomplete files, and credit risks. Maintain a permanent record of each call made to the customer documenting specific details of the conversation as well as the amount and date of expected payments. Assess and propose process improvement opportunities to our B2B collections methodology: Discuss any new payment arrangements and/or write-offs with Controller and CFO, Engage a 3rd Party Collector as needed, and Complete bankruptcy filing paperwork as received. Bank Deposits/Inputs: Receive and deposit customer payments into online banking system, reconcile payments to A/R Aging and post payments accordingly into accounting software, and prepare short/overpay paperwork for preparation of credits or additional invoices

Here?s a summary of the skills you?ll need for this position:
-3-5 years of related work experience with Collection Proficient Data Entry/Typing skills
- Expert level using the 10-key calculator / 35+ WPM Skilled in Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
-Prior experience and familiarity with accounting software Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
-Excellent professional & interpersonal skills with a friendly, customer-service oriented attitude to be able to collect in a positive way
-Must be proactive and task-driven with strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills
-Must have tenacity and follow-up to obtain required information from customers and Account Managers
-Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and be able to have the flexibility to multi-task in an organized manner
-Must have a strong work ethic, motivation to learn, can work independently and as part of a team
-Demonstrated problem analysis/problem resolution skills
-Must be able to work with highly confidential information
