In achieving the organization?s growth strategy, we are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist in Fairfield, NJ Headquarters to join our Team. The Accounts Receivable Specialist is in charge of maintaining our accounts receivable, including transaction processing and monitoring credit and collections.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Resolve billing or collections problems identified by customers or other departments quickly and efficiently.
Partner with operational team and Customer Service team to address the root cause of issues.
Post cash receipts.
Distribute monthly invoices and statements.
Apply/monitor finance charges.
Ensure all information available for proper billing is accurate.
Prepare reports of billing activity for management.
Research and complete credits and refunds requests from clients and other departments.
Provide information and interpretation of billing procedures to other departments.
Education & Work Experience:
A High School Diploma or GED required. Associate?s degree or Bachelor?s degree from a four-year college or university strongly preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in billing, customer service or general accounting experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Prior experience and specialized or technical knowledge (a must):
Possess knowledge of accounting software applications, as well as proficiency in software tools including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience using O?Neil and MAS 500 preferred, but not required.
Be able to use persuasive skills and maintain tact when dealing with difficult customers.
Have a customer service mindset.
Be able to process data entry in high-volumes.
Be able to identify, understand, and be sensitive to interrelationships between people and functions.
Be a dependable self-starter and possess good time-management abilities.
Have a positive attitude.
Work well in a team, and delegate tasks where necessary.
