iPipeline, a leading insurance and financial services software developer, currently has an opening for an entry level Actuarial Technician, Associate, or Assistant to work as an Illustration Actuarial Software Developer in our Exton, Pennsylvania office. We are looking for candidates with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who are willing to have contact with client actuaries. An actuarial student in a Life or Annuity track is preferred. Actuarial exam progress is not required and no exam support is provided. Major Responsibilities:
This is a non-traditional actuary position that provides the candidate with the opportunity to be integrally involved in all aspects of the insurance illustration marketplace.
Identify individual product components and features
Estimate development costs
Communicate with internal and external customers
Develop calculation engines according to customer specifications and/or service requests
Issue resolution
Build relations and provide customer support
Possible customer visits to work on new products or projects
Keeping abreast of any regulatory change affecting illustrations
Key Skills/Experience:
Business product knowledge desired; but not required, especially Life or Annuities. This could also include software testing, pricing experience, and/or product development.
Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and word processing software, programming skills, ability to learn and use a variety of software packages.
An understanding of Life contingencies and the theory of Interest
Strong problem identification and problem solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and group dynamic skills
Good project management skills
Highly self-motivated with strong personal management and organization skills
2+ years experience in actuarial department
Education:
College degree in Mathematics or related field
