Our team is looking for an Adaptive Instruction Analyst. This is a cross-disciplinary role, equal parts subject matter expert, technical, and consulting. You?ll be working to operationalize the implementation of our models in as clean and efficient a manner as possible. Additionally, you?ll be validating these models by doing short-term quality assurance and long-term educational research. In the process, you?ll engage with our partners? content, their subject matter experts, their workflows, and our learning ontology.

Scale the development of Knewton knowledge graphs
Implement and iterate on a machine-readable framework (i.e. the knowledge graph) that describes educational content, with the goal of optimizing student outcomes in adaptive courses
Write and maintain an extensive set of documentation and training collateral that enables third parties to acquire knowledge graph development expertise
Coordinate knowledge graph development projects for major partners, ensuring that information architecture milestones are effectively planned and met
Work with development teams and third-party vendors to support scaled expansion of knowledge graph architecture and knowledge graph management tools, as part of Knewton?s API integrations.
Work with Platform and Systems teams to maintain knowledge graphs on production, within integrated educational products and across an expanding ecosystem of open educational resources.
Learn from data generated by students and educational content
Perform recommendation QA tests, using any findings to suggest improvements to the content, the product, and the descriptive framework itself.
Draw on content knowledge and learning theory to frame questions for data analysis and interpret the results of that analysis, then draw conclusions that feed back in the form of content improvements.
Ability to analyze data, grapple with data structures, and devise logistical solutions for both people and machines to do the same
Experience in and passion for the field of education, and an ability to think broadly about the intersection of technology and education
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables and messy data, in situations where only limited standardization exists
Strong organizational skills and capacity to communicate in cross-functional groups
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and partners
Extremely scrupulous attention to detail and ability to instill the same ethic in others
Exceptional logical skills
Exceptional written skills in English
1+ years of project management experience, preferably at the intersection of education and technology
1+ years of teaching or content development experience in a quantitative discipline
Spreadsheet wizardry a must, but information architecture, systems engineering, industrial operations, or engineering experience an enormous plus
Professional experience with educational standards, instructional design, and the educational technology landscape a plus
