The Admissions Manager?s primary role will be to directly manage 5 ? 9 counselors on the sales floor, overseeing the admissions process for the DataScience@Berkeley delivered by 2U. The primary responsibility of this position is to attain the admissions goals established by company management.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Learn operational aspects of the admissions department and becoming an expert on programs and processes
Proactively coach and mentor team members to reach goals while maintaining a positive working environment
Assist with day-to-day operations in admissions including managing scheduling, attendance, etc.
Monitor and assess counselors to ensure a high volume and quantity of phone calls to prospective students that have indicated interest in the program
Engage in all activities of an Admissions Counselor and meet set targets and goals as they relate to managements enrollment goals
Monitor and report to management on lead quality and volume, especially any adverse trends experienced within their team
Work in conjunction with Sr. Manager and Trainer to effectively train and onboard new Admissions Counselors and identify skill gaps of current counselors
Develop creative and effective methods to motivate and encourage the team to meet goals set by management
Provide management with accurate and frequent reports related to enrollment activities from within their team
Recommend to management with confidence personnel who need extra training, improvement plans or disciplinary action up to and including termination
Give accurate feedback in a constructive manner to counselors in regard to all aspects of the role, with particular attention to individual development
Mentor and coach counselors to develop the necessary skill set for promotion and advancement opportunities with the immediate business unit or company as a whole
Lead by example whilst delegating roles and responsibilities in a fair and equitable manner
Maintain a high and professional level of communication flow both to and from counselors, students and management
Set team expectations and communicate to management a strategy to success
Suggest to management strategies and methods of improvement for daily operational practices
Define and outline a plan for the management of your team
Things That Should Be in Your Background:
Bachelor?s degree in related field required; Master?s preferred
At least 6 months experience, within 2U, directly related to the duties and responsibilities expected of an Admissions Counselor. Previous management experience in an admissions or sales focused environment is a plus
A strong track record within 2U as it relates to student enrollment and retention
Strong sales and customer service background
Proven ability to manage a team of highly educated, professional staff
Excellent computer skills (Salesforce, Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
