Your tasks will include:
Design and implementation of new use cases using emerging technologies
Contribute to the development of new systems, algorithms or techniques
Contribution to create intellectual property in form of inventions and in house expertise
Help define research and development roadmaps
Develop white papers and resource estimates for R/D efforts
Work closely with other groups within your team, across the company in San Diego and remote locations to communicate your results and understand problem domains of your colleagues responsible for areas such as engineering, security and product management
Participate and lead discussions dealing with architectures, specifications, requirements, testing and design reviews
Areas you will be working may include:
Software for securing and managing premium video content in various environments
Approaches and architectures for securing mobile platforms such as TrustZone and CryptoFirewall
Security features of streaming video
Anti-debugging technologies and software obfuscation
Video coding and adaptive streaming
Digital watermarking
Web technologies
Data analytics and big data
Required Qualifications
Software development background C/C++,Java or Objective C design and coding experience (more than 1 language is a plus)
Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals (B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics; an M.S. Degree is desirable)
Demonstrated practical experience with successfully implemented IT projects - hobby and side projects do count.
Good command of development tools, including open source, preferably on different platforms, including version control and testing
Self-starter with good interpersonal and written / verbal communication skills
Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and conduct an analysis of alternatives
Excellent communication skills including documentation
Server and application programming in Linux, OS X, or Windows (2 or more a plus)
Each of the Following would be a Plus
Android or iOS development
Computer security mechanism applications and principles
Digital Rights Management and Video Conditional Access Systems
Embedded software development experience
Security protocols, cryptography, PKI, SSL/TLS
Video standards such as: DECE/UltraViolet, MPEG2/4, AVC, H.264, MPEG DASH, HTTP Live Streaming, PlayReady, Marlin and RTSP
