Summary:
Architects solutions to complex technical problems in a set of technological spaces. Creates specifications and prototypes, and works with engineers to create products based on those specifications. Maintains awareness of the latest industry trends and technologies, and provides technical advice to other departments. Operates without supervision, with extensive latitude for independent judgment
Qualification Requirements:
Education:
Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, advanced degree desirable
Experience:
10+ years research and/or development experience
Skills:
Proven experience in conducting research
High-level knowledge of company's development design procedures and objectives
Excellent organizational, decision making and communication skills
Prior experience in the technological spaces the work requires.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for design/architect systems according to proposed strategic direction and marketing requirements by providing technical solution for the most challenging markets and requirements.
Working across engineering product groups, ensures that ideas, codes, designs, and architectural concepts are shared and improve how adjacent SafeNet products work together
Work with product management to achieve designs which meets market requirements and creates corresponding engineering tasks and architectural modules based on applicable design.
Ensure proposed solutions are reasonable given time and technology constraints; combine input from all stakeholders (internal, external and others) to achieve the best overall solution.
Conceives, proposes, and sells new ideas in engineering and product managements which are relevant to SafeNet?s markets and result in product innovation and/or patent proposals
Participates in design and implementation/code reviews of other team members
Work with implementation teams to derive and document appropriate designs for the problem space
Provide documentation as appropriate including design documentation, inputs for external specifications; system requirements specifications and end user documentation
Independently manages time and prioritizes tasks to achieve results within cost and schedule constraints
Communicates with customers on strategic accounts as necessary
Provides work assistance and mentoring to Architects and Engineers
Remains abreast of current technological progress to ensure company's products remain marketable and
competitive
Other duties as assigned
