Aerodynamics Application Engineer Exa
POSITION PROFILE:Exa Corporation is seeking Aerodynamics Engineers to fill technical positions in the area of aerodynamic simulations. The objective of the position is to perform validation and to develop best practices and new simulation methodologies using Exa?s PowerFLOW software for automotive aerodynamics applications.
As an Aerodynamics Engineer you will:
? Act as a member of the Aero-Thermal Applications Group and be responsible for validating the latest aerodynamics features in PowerFLOW and develop new technical solutions of interest to the automotive industry which will require the ability to solve challenging fluid dynamic problems.
? Communicate the validation activities to the development team.
? Become proficient in the use of Exa?s software and other CAE tools.
? Work with the leading automotive companies and help them solve challenging problems related to vehicle aerodynamics.
? Communicate with customers and if necessary provide technical support on the developed applications. You will also work closely with members of the team and other groups within the company.
You will report to the Director of Aerodynamics Applications and will be based out of Burlington, Massachusetts; (an alternate location may be considered in certain cases for the qualified candidate). JOB REQUIREMENTS:
? MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerodynamics, Physics or equivalent.
? Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics fundamentals, with 1-5 years of relevant work in the industry. Any candidate with relevant experience will be considered.
? Experience in Aerodynamic applications in automotive industry, both analytical and experimental, are a strong plus.
? Strong expertise in using commercial CFD and other CAE tools including geometry preparation software such as ANSA.
? UNIX Skills, script programming and knowledge of programming languages, a strong plus.
? Strong oral communication skills in English and good presentation skills.
? Fluency or working level knowledge in other languages a strong plus.
? Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills and a desire for continuous learning.
? Ability to apply these skills cooperatively
