Job Qualifications (basic job description):
Aurora is seeking leaders in aero structure systems project engineering through design, development, production, operations and support phases of aerostructures programs. Candidates should be experience in systems operations and support phases of aerostructures programs. Candidates should be experienced in systems engineering, engineering management, and program management, and will collaborate with the customer, designers, stress analysts, manufacturing engineers and support functions to ensure required completion of planned activities and achievement of program milestones. Requires an analytical problem-solver that possesses a strong attention to detail and enjoys working in a fast paced environment.
The successful candidate will:
Partipate in the planning, design, development, production, and fielding of aero structure components.
Create and maintain work breakdown structure including customer dependencies and engineering, manufacturing, program management and supply chain.
Support program contract management including documentation of engineering communication, and engineering input towards negotiations, agreements, changes, modifications and new proposals for increased scope.
Create, execute, monitor, and update detailed near term plans to support program goals, proactively monitoring daily progress, removing roadblocks, and statusing progress against plan, actions items, milestones, engineering change management, and delivery status.
Establish, monitor, analyze and communicate performance measurements and program metrics.
Actively lead/support internal/external requirements, design, test manufacturing, and delivery gate reviews.
Develop and/or support high quality technical reports, white papers, and briefings related to aero structures including IMP/IMS, PM Plans, WBS, PMR, SEMP, Hazard matrices, TEMP, V&V plans, qualification roadmaps, statement of work, analysis of alternatives, concepts of operation, aero structure design, risk management, requirements verification, reliability, safety, logistics, verification, certification, validation, sustainability, interface management, configuration management, performance management, etc.
Lead/participate in Change Control Board (CCB). Develop and execute processes for configuration management and change control and review and track assessment, development, and implementation of engineering changes.
Gather, support, and manage documentation related to Source controlled components.
Proactively identify, mitigate, monitor, and control technical and program risks and escalate as needed.
Maintain current knowledge of and comply with relevant standards, methods, technologies, and applications.
Minimum Requirements (education and experience):
The position requires:
A Bachelor's degree in aerospace science, engineering, or related field.
Subject matter expertise (2-5 years of experience) in systems engineering, engineering management, and/or program management in the aero structures domain with increasing responsibility.
Ability to simultaneously grasp the big picture while maintaining attention to detail.
Ability to take initiative, work independently and effectively, prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously both individually and as a member of a project team, while ensuring timely completion of assignments.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude.
Excellent meeting facilitation skills and experience in preparing and giving presentations.
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering peers and project professionalism with internal and external customers.
Demonstrated ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in a dynamic environment.
Strong technical writing experience and demonstrated effective communication skills - spoken and written.
An entrepreneurial and flexible self-starter with a high energy level and a systems engineering mindset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Word.
Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder.
In addition, the following would be helpful:
Working knowledge of aero structures design and manufacturing.
Working knowledge of CATIA or CAD modeling.
A passion and motivation for a career in aviation.
