Freescale?s Analog & Sensor Group (ASG) provides a full portfolio of innovative platform solutions that combine best-in-class software, hardware, support and manufacturing targeted at the automotive, consumer, wireless device, industrial and networking markets. The company has rejuvenated its analog focus bringing to market new, innovative products that combine analog and mixed signal capability with embedded control for automotive body, chassis and safety, powertrain and driver information systems. On the consumer side, ASG provides highly integrated power management ICs for portable communications and computing products such as tablets, slates, e-readers and netbooks.
We are looking for an Analog Designer for our Tempe location. This person will design analog mixed signal power ICs for automotive and consumer, industrial applications that may include system definition, IC architecture, circuit design, simulation and layout. All aspects require good engineering skills together with analysis, creativity, collaboration and customer interaction.
The analog IC engineer is responsible for designing and selecting new transistor and block-level circuits meeting IC specifications using a combination of new and existing elements and technology innovations. Other aspects are device sizing, pre- and post-layout circuit simulation, design reviews and documentation, analog layout guidance, and other cell design activities.

BSEE, MS or PhD is preferred
At least 8 years direct experience designing analog and mixed-signal transistor level circuitry for automotive or power management applications
Expertise in analog circuit design theory and device physics used to create original and novel circuits that provide significant value
Familiarity with and ability to design traditional analog MOS and BJT circuits such as bandgap references, amplifiers, oscillators, detection circuits, filters, autozero and matching circuits, linear and switching regulators
A good understanding of feedback analysis and loop compensation skills
Knowledge of ESD and EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) techniques and testing procedures
Experience with mixed-signal design tools similar to VerilogAMS is a plus
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with highly technical people
