POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Quality & Governance Analyst is responsible for managing provider network data definitions, standards and associated business rules across health plan customer base as well as partner and product lines in order to build and enforce standards and compliance across the organization. This role has primary responsibility for the execution of data governance processes, including facilitating and leading data governance meetings, research across current data model(s), business rule application and support trends related to data configuration processes to proactively identify data quality improvement initiatives and operational efficiency opportunities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (in order to be considered for this position, the individual must be able to perform essential functions listed below):
Quickly become familiar with client-supplied provider network data as well as with internally developed tools used to load data relationships
Perform data profiling to assess data quality, including accuracy, completeness and traceability
Assist in the development, maintenance, enforcement and monitoring of data governance processes and standards
Lead data quality & governance initiatives in the following ways:
Identification of data quality and data model improvement initiatives, including definition of clear goals
Provide project management oversight for department-led data initiatives
Ongoing assessment and auditing of adherence to data standards, including the documentation & publishing of data quality metrics
Provides analytical support in cross-departmental initiatives involving provider network data (e.g. Professional Service, Product Management, Marketing, IT, Engineering) providing the necessary input and analysis to support the decision-making process
Collaborate with health plan and product teams to evaluate and communicate impact of decisions relating to provider data models, data elements and business rules on Customer Service and other downstream support functions and processes. Translate business needs into data and operational support requirements
Serve as provider data expert, inclusive of both operational processes and data loading tools
Manage customer data configuration requests as well as the maintenance of provider data for assigned accounts

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related degree or equivalent experience
Proficiency working with database tables, writing and executing SQL queries
Familiarity working with CRM systems such as Oracle and Salesforce.com
Proven experience in at least one of the following key focus areas:
Implementation and support of business systems
Business process development and improvement
Business intelligence and/or business insight methodologies
Data integration / database experience. For example: data modeling, MS SQL Server, SQL language
Proficiency working with Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel and Visio
Experience with standard data & business modeling techniques such as cross-functional process flows, use cases, wireframes and UML
2+ years of proven project management experience in a technical environment
2+ years of experience within the healthcare industry strongly preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
Strong analytical and statistical skills, including the ability to manipulate data in large scale (flat files, Access, SQL, Oracle)
Passionate about producing high-quality work
Desire and ability to challenge status-quo in order to identify and implement operational process improvements
Demonstrated ability to collect business requirements, analyze data and present recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent documentation and presentation skills
Ability to influence others in a matrix environment. Proven ability to interact successfully with individuals at all levels of the organization
Ability to work independently and also as part of a team with direction
Must be self-motivated, proactive and able to work well under pressure
