Analyst, Private Company Market SecondMarket

SecondMarket is seeking a dynamic individual to join the private company market team as an Analyst in the New York City office. This person will join a dedicated team of market professionals (a ?deal team?) tasked with originating and executing private secondary transactions in some of the most exciting venture-backed growth companies in the U.S. This individual will be responsible for supporting every facet of the deal team?s client relationships, from prospecting and qualifying, to negotiating and ultimate execution, for approximately 50 companies (primarily based in the East Coast and in Europe). The ideal candidate for this role is an intelligent, action-oriented, results-driven team player that understands the value of building strong and lasting relationships with high growth private companies and their shareholders.

The Analyst will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the deal team?s business development and transaction execution efforts. Duties would include, but not be limited to, supporting account planning and client engagement activities, managing revenue-generating private company opportunities, and coordinating the successful transaction execution and close. This individual will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong client relationships with private company executives, employees, shareholders, and other participants of the SecondMarket's private company market services; and, supporting private company market processes for onboarding of new clients including ecosystem partners, buyers, sellers, and issuers.

Experience in this role will provide a strong foundation for growth within SecondMarket.

Requirements

?0-2 years of experience in financial services, venture capital, or in a business role (corp dev, consulting, or enterprise sales) at a venture-capital-backed technology company startup (recent college graduates welcome).
?Extraordinary work ethic, with solid project management skills and strong attention to detail
?Experience and desire to build lasting relationships with participants in the private company stock market ecosystem
?Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and client relations skills
?Interest in disrupting and changing the status quo as it relates to financial markets and capital formation
?Experience working with venture-backed company founders, investors and employees a strong plus
?Interest in working in an entrepreneurial environment
?Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce.com or equivalent
?NASD Series 7, and 63 licenses (or equivalent), or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment (study materials will be provided)
