About the Job
We are currently seeking an Analyst to support Nexant?s Government Consulting activities. The primary initial focus for the position will be to support Nexant?s work on the Africa Infrastructure Program (AIP) in its Washington DC office as a regular, full-time employee. AIP is a USAID sponsored program for which Nexant is the implementing contractor. AIP provides specialized project finance, legal, regulatory, technical and infrastructure experts to governments, public institutions and occasionally to the private sector, in the advanced phases of the project development cycle, with an aim to create an enabling environment, remove roadblocks, mitigate or contain risk elements in the project structure, and help power generation and transmission projects reach financial closure and start implementation.
The AIP program will come to an end at end of March 2014, at which time the position may be eliminated and candidates must be mindful of the possibility that commensurate assignments may not be available, in which case the job will be terminated.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support AIP Principals in undertaking research, intelligence, and analysis on various subjects such as country development, power sector structures, major utility players, etc. They will also help organize reports and presentations, assist in communications with clients, help in preparation of project budgets, and other tasks as required.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics and business administration preferred
Minimum of 1 year experience with exposure to developing countries preferred
Ability to support multiple projects while meeting deliverable deadlines and budgets
Excellent writing, interpersonal, presentation, and research and analytical skills
Proficient in using the Internet and Web
Strong skills and proficiency in using MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Leading contributor individually and as a team member
