The Adchemy Actions team is seeking a creative and inquisitive analytic scientist to join our Research and Analytics team to help provide the analyses, tools, and insights needed to run our practical implementation of Adchemy?s digital marketing platform.
We are looking for an analytic thinker who is comfortable abstracting messy reality into neat conceptual models, who can both grasp and absorb new concepts and explain them in a clean, understandable manner. We are looking for someone proficient in a scripting language such as Python, and, ideally, familiar with Django, who is eager to translate raw data and analytic perspectives into useful tools that will enhance the productivity of business users. The ideal candidate will be acquainted with but not intimidated by failure, someone who always has a Plan B (and usually a C and D) in case Plan A fails.
The Analytic Scientist role requires someone who is comfortable working with business users, analytic colleagues, and clients, but who also thrives on intense individual effort.
This position will report to the Director of Data and Analytics. It will also involve significant cross-functional interaction, particularly with the Product, Sales, Distribution, and Engineering groups.
Responsibilities
Apply abstract techniques to real-world problems across a broad range of online advertising contexts
Use Python as a means of automating and streamlining existing processes
Build fully scalable prototypes of tools for analytic exploration
Support analysis efforts of cross-functional teams to address specific business issues
Requirements
Strong background in at least one of the following
Applied mathematics
Statistics
Computer science
Operations research
Extensive programming experience
Experience building statistical models using regression analysis to fuel business decisions
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Master?s degree (or Bachelor?s with a strong match in other qualifications) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or a related field
Experience in one or more of the following areas are pluses:
Industry experience, especially in a consumer internet or online advertising related setting
Web development using Python, particularly with Django, MySQL, JavaScript, Apache, Linux, and Ajax
Data visualization
Statistical software packages (R, S-Plus, Matlab, SAS, or similar)
