ANALYTICAL CHEMIST #409 Nanosys
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Nanosys is looking for an experienced analytical chemist who is responsible for carrying out analytical measurements on Nanosys Quantum Dot products and raw materials used in the manufacture of these products. This person will work closely with chemists at Nanosys to develop new analytical methods on new materials as well as establish a state of the art analytical capability with existing test methods and instrumentation. In addition to developing and carrying out test methods this person will be responsible for analyzing test data and presenting findings internally to cross-functional teams. It is also possible that this position may have some supervisory responsibility over chemistry technicians. The position is within Nanosys Quality department.
Summary of essential job functions:
Perform routine or new GC and ICP-OES measurements, sample prep and analyses in support of quality control and process development. Document and report results.
Work with experienced chemists within Nanosys to develop measurement protocols. Assume responsibility for measurements. Document and report results.
Help specify new methods, tools or streamline methods for capability, efficiency and cost.
Work in glove boxes and air free environments for sample preparation.
Maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues.
Organize lab and order supplies.
Transfer routine manufacturing measurements to manufacturing team. Train others in measurements/protocols.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Operational knowledge of analytical instrumentation including GC and ICP-OES.
Fundamental understanding of chemical analysis methods.
Demonstrated experience in analytical method development.
Ability to rapidly modify approaches as materials and processes evolve.
Excellent problem solving skills
Superb ability for accuracy.
Must have exceptionally good organizational skills and pay close attention to detail.
Excellent documentation skills.
Ability to communicate clearly both orally and by writing.
Ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently.
Education, Experience and Certifications:
BS/MS in Chemistry / Materials Science / Chemical Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant work experience.
Experience working with novel materials.
Experience in GMP environment.
Experience working with quantum dot phosphors an advantage.
