Trulia (www.trulia.com) is a leading site for homebuyers, renters, and real estate professionals. We are searching for a brilliant, curious analytics professional who can identify critical business questions before they are asked and answer them with speed, rigor, and creativity. The analytics team partners on projects with our sales, marketing, product, engineering, and finance teams. The position reports to the Director of Analytics.
You will have several years of experience as an individual contributor working on pricing, customer retention, segmentation, scoring, and similar analytics projects. Consulting or project management experience would be a strong plus.
Identify and help scope projects that contribute to our revenue and monetization efforts, with partner teams throughout the company. Develop algorithms to optimize pricing, customer retention strategies, and other complex business challenges.
Support development of key metrics for tracking performance of the business.
Communicate analytical results clearly and memorably to internal partners and senior management.
Work closely with the engineering and data-warehouse teams to insure quality, accessibility, and consistency of data.
Manage multiple short-term and long-term projects simultaneously, under changing and challenging constraints.
3-5 years as an individual contributor performing quantitative or statistical analysis to deliver business insights.
Ability to scope analytical projects and bring them to clear, definitive, and actionable conclusions.
Ability to translate complicated methods and results into plain language, both in speaking and writing.
Ability to manipulate and analyze large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets.
Ability to write and execute complex SQL queries to extract data from a variety of internal sources.
Solid knowledge of statistical tools (R, Stata, or similar), web analytics tools (e.g., Omniture), and survey tools (e.g., ForeSee).
Strong client management skills with a good grasp of both technical and business perspectives
Solid theoretical and applied knowledge of statistics.
Extraordinary quantitative intuition and strong business judgment.
Prefer MS or MBA in a quantitative discipline.
