Devicescape is seeking an experienced mobile software developer to develop applications primarily on the Android mobile platform. The ideal candidate should have experience developing complex mobile applications at both the GUI and system levels, preferably for mobile network operators and carriers. Knowledge of both C and Java is required.Job Responsibilities:
As an Android Developer you will be a member of the client development team, which is responsible for developing the Devicescape Offload Client. The Offload Client provides an innovative data offload solution and service for mobile network operators, reducing their 3G/4G data costs.
As the successful candidate, you should be comfortable with fast paced, start-up environments and be committed to developing high quality products aimed at providing a high level of customer value. Devicescape practices Agile development methodology, so you should be familiar with these concepts and be comfortable with iterative team focused development.
Requirements:
5+ years of development experience in a fast-paced environment with hard project deadlines
1+ years of Android development - candidate must have solid skills with Java and C
Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle multiple tasks
Fanatical attention to details with a self starter mentality
Must have natural affinity for gadgets and technology
Familiarity with developing system service type apps vs. strictly consumer apps
Experience with wireless and cellular APIs a plus
Knowledge of WiFi, mobile carrier technology and experience with other mobile platforms a bonus
