Job Description:Avalara is looking for an Application Consultant to assist customers in their configuration of the AvaTax SaaS Platform. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple concurrent implementations and support cases, dealing specifically with product taxability, tax compliance, and the configuration of the AvaTax system to meet the customers taxability needs. This is a fast-paced job that requires task management, issue management, and training while maintaining an exceptional level of customer satisfaction.
Job Summary:
Software Implementation Consultants are responsible for the coordination of training and support throughout the customers implementation of Avalaras products and services. The Software Implementation Consultant ensures that each customer understands the GoLive process and is aware of the tools and training available. Software Implementation Consultants are the main point of contact for their customers, and are required to document each customer contact, escalate issues to the appropriate department and facilitate the resolution of customer issues to insure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Job Duties:
Gather taxability requirements from Customers
Configure the AvaTax Admin Console based on customer business requirements.
Explain the taxability rules associated with AvaTax System Tax Codes
Become intimate with AvaTax Tax Codes
Train customers on how to create custom tax rules & tax codes
Train customers on how to implement Tax Rules for their integration
Work with Avalara Compliance to resolve disputes in taxability & compliance
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through professional communication and consistent follow up.
Document customer progress with each customer interaction. Monitor and respond to customer requests via phone or email.
Manage customer issues from incident report through to resolution.
Escalate technical issues immediately following departmental guidelines and follow-up regularly with the customer and internal resources to expedite issue resolution.
Contribute to process and product improvement to increase performance and customer satisfaction.
Experience and Skills:
Knowledge of and experience with Sales & Use Tax
Ability to research and decipher sales tax regulations and rulings
Successful experience working directly with customers to resolve implementation issues.
ERP implementation experience highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of project management tasks in application implementation environment.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to effectively analyze and troubleshoot customer issues.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workflow to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain an effective follow up system to ensure timely and accurate handling project implementation.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Proven PC skills such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Outlook.
