The Application Development Scientist (ADS) works in tandem with the segment team, R&D, and customer service to test product applications, provide voice of customer, and conduct seminars. As a member of the segment team the ADS provides input on product development and requirements. As an application scientist, the ADS tests products and assists customers with troubleshooting and technical support. The ADS also attends scientific meetings and seminars, visits customers, and conducts seminars and workshops. The ideal candidate is currently a bench level scientist/application scientist with a strong background in stem cell research who wants to use his or her technical skills to work with academic and therapeutic scientists. This opportunity utilizes the candidate?s technical skills to help solve problems for scientists at the bench level. Responsibilities include:
Provide input on product development
Help develop applications requested by customers
Assist with product validation and troubleshooting
Provide applications and technical support to existing customers
Conduct technical seminars and customer visits
Assist in customer training courses
Attend conferences and present posters
Network among the scientific community

Requirements:
0-2 years experience in a field applications scientist or technical support position.
Ph.D. in life science. Thesis on stem cells preferred. MBA or business degree a plus.
Hands on experience with cell culture or primary cell culture. Experience culturing human ES cells and generating iPS cells preferred. Experience performing immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, and a solid understanding of cytokines, ECM proteins, primary cells, and small molecule chemistry. Substantial knowledge of current scientific literature and life science methods and applications.
Excellent time management, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to customers.
Ability to work with geographically dispersed teammates and organizations.
Solid skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
