DescriptionPLA is seeking an Application Packager for an 8 week contract engagement in Greenville, SC to help us grow our EWS group.
Skills and Experience:
Experience certifying and packaging applications for the Windows 7 and Windows 8 platform
7+ years of experience in working with packaging tools such as Quest MSI Studio, Wise Package Studio and/or Flexera AdminStudio.
Perform rigorous compatibilitycertification testing of packages. Testing will require identifying and resolving conflicts with other MSI packages.
Extensive experience building MSI installations to address first time installs and upgrades from scratch, repackaging of commercial and internal software affecting the enterprise, generating transform files & patches.
Experience creating Custom Actions for Install, Repair and Uninstall actions.
Experience with deployment of packages to Server 2003 & 2008, Windows Vista & Windows 7 environments.
Experience with deployment methodology such as System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), login scripts and group policies.
Extensive experience with Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) and Enterprise Desktop Virtualization (MED-V) solutions.
Knowledgeable at developing installation automation using PowerShell, VB and CMD scripts.
Advanced knowledge of the Windows registry, file and folder security, local/domain user security, and operating system troubleshooting.
Knowledge of VMware Workstation and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
Knowledge of ACT, OMPM, MDOP and other tools from Microsoft.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
