| BreakingPoint was founded by the team that created TippingPoint and the Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) for network security. During the creation of the TippingPoint solution it was obvious to the team that network security must be measured using more realistic scenarios in order to truly withstand cyber attack and high-stress application load. After a successful acquisition, some of the TippingPoint leadership created BreakingPoint to address critical network security needs. Having developed the IPS and changed the network security industry at TippingPoint, the founders of BreakingPoint had several "a ha" moments. Legacy testing tools could never truly provide them with the deep analysis of their equipment they needed before deploying into customer networks. Finding nobody at the time that could provide realistic network equipment stressing and scoring, this team started to create what is now the BreakingPoint Storm CTM. |
