Application Support Engineer Notable Solutions
The Application Support Engineer position will provide escalation support via phone and email for NSi products. The Application Support Engineer will test reported issues and work with other technical resources within NSi on problem replication and resolution as required. The potential candidate will be required to meet service level agreements, provide training to level 1 support staff, create knowledgebase articles, reply to forums and assist with SDK support. The desired candidate must have proven experience in troubleshooting VBScripts.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide Phone Support and email support for customers calling the call center with technical issues related to NSi?s product
Provide support for NSi Products for escalation
Provide coverage for Tier 1 level as needed
Create Customer Support Cases and document all activities in the case
Test reported issues
Work with other technical resources within NSi on problem replication and resolution, as required
Create and maintain Knowledgebase articles on issues that are discovered
Provide escalation support HelpDesk tickets for internal Users
Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 1 issues
Reply to, and moderate, NSi Technical Forums
Meet service level agreements and provide feedback on support cases
Candidate will rotate shifts for continuous 24-hour coverage to support Enterprise customers.
Skills and Experience Needed
Required:
BS in Computer Science
2+ years of proven experience with VB.NET Scripting and VBScripts
3+ years of relational database support and development (Microsoft SQL)
3+ years experience with Microsoft Server Class operating systems (2000, 2003 and 2008)
3+ years experience in troubleshooting DNS, WINS, and LDAP issues
3+ years troubleshooting TCP/IP, network layers and protocols
2+ years experience with XML and CSV
2+ years with mail servers (MS Exchange), Active Directory, LDAP, SMTP, POP3
2+ years hands-on experience with web servers and web technologies (IIS and Tomcat)
3+ years of supporting server applications in a production environment
2+ years experience working with VMWare or other Virtualization products
Proven experience in software solution design
Knowledge of document management and workflow procedures
Experience with relational databases and writing SQL Queries
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Minimum 3 years of experience troubleshooting applications
Experience in solutions design
Preferred:
Knowledge of document management and workflow procedures
Experience with Novell
Experience with ERP and ECM
